Each year, we like to acknowledge those who have made a difference in our chapter, our community, or in an individual’s life with Space Station Requiem and the Guilds of Requiem, Inc. network. Nominations begin on November 1st through November 30th. Any member can nominate any eligible person for an award to that Departmental Commander/Chief, or to the Commanding Officer of Space Station Requiem. Annual Awards are presented at the December Annual Yuletide Celebration ZOOM Party. We are working on appropriate pins/ensignia to be awarded with each category.

The following awards are available, by Department:

Command Department - Member of the Year Awards

  • The Chesty Puller Award - Tenured Member of the Year:

    • To lead by Example

    • To easily relate to all members of Space Station Requiem 

    • To Exemplify what being a member of Space Station Requiem

    • To consistently go above and beyond the call of duty during the course of membership with Space Station Requiem

    • Rarely lets the chapter down (says they will do something and follows through)

    • Open to all members of Space Station Requiem

    • A Space Station Requiem Comm Badge will also be awarded

 

  • The Bretagne Award - New Member of the Year:

    • Tireless in their devotion to the betterment of the Chapter, Guilds of Requiem, and an asset to the entire organization

    • Open to all Space Station Requiem, Civilian and Fleet, members that are in their first year of membership that are a stellar addition to the membership roster

    • A Space Station Requiem Comm Badge will also be awarded

 

  • The Five Year Mission Award:

    • Presented to members who have completed five years of service to Space Station Requiem in any capacity

    • Recipient will win a $50 Gift Certificate to any online store that Guilds of Requiem, Inc. maintains

    • A Space Station Requiem Comm Badge will also be awarded, if you do not already have one, and a five year star pin to be awarded for wearing on Formal Uniforms

 

  • The Rite of Ascension to Centatte - Ten Year Membership Award:

    • Presented to members who have completed ten years of service to Space Station Requiem in any capacity

    • Recipient will win a $100 Gift Certificate to any online store that Guilds of Requiem, Inc. maintains

    • A ten year Starburst pin to be awarded for wearing on Formal Uniforms

Communications Department

  • The Carl Sagan Award:

    • Prolific posting of science based articles in the groups

    • Open to all members of GoR Public Groups

 

  • The Fluffy Award:

    • Prolific posting of funnies in the groups

    • Open to all members of GoR Public Groups

 

  • The Gene Roddenberry and Stan Lee Award:

    • Prolific posting of fandom news in the groups

    • Open to all members of GoR Public Groups

Engineering Department

  • The Archimedes Principle:

    • “Give me a place to stand and I will move the Earth.”

    • Innovation in promoting the chapter, local and/or long distance

    • Open to Space Station Requiem, Civilian and Fleet, Members Only

 

  • The Lord Alan Sugar Award:

    • A Leader in “constructing” new ways to recruit local members of Space Station Requiem

    • Open to Space Station Requiem Members Only - Civilian and Fleet

Medical Department

  • The EMH Award:

    • Rendering of Emergency Services in the time crisis - any time - any place

    • Open to all members of Guilds of Requiem and Space Station Requiem

 

  • The Madame Curie Award - Volunteer of the Year:

    • “One Never Notices What Has to be Done; One Can Only See What Remains to be Done.”

    • The above quote is true because this person has stepped up when a need is present

    • Open to all Event Volunteers without regard to fandom affiliations

Operations Department

  • Sigma Six Designation Award:

    • Contributes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the smooth operation of the chapter

    • Open to all members of GoR Public Groups

    • GoR and SSR members are eligible

 

  • The Eli Whitney Award:

    • Provided innovative ways in which to run the chapter during the past year

    • Open only to Guilds of Requiem, Inc. and Space Station Requiem (Civilian/Fleet) members

Search & Rescue Department

  • The Sullenberger Award:

    • Individual heroics of the everyday sort that are notable and memorable

    • Open to all members of GoR Public Groups

 

  • The Ground Control Award:

    • Group efforts of the everyday sort that are notable and memorable

    • Open to the General Public involved with Guilds of Requiem, Inc and Space Station Requiem activities

 

  • The Trakr Award:

    • Individual SFCQ1 member who does the most recruiting of Long-Distance Members

Security Department

  • The Josue Montolongue Award:

    • Embraces the “Let me help” principle in the face of their own personal hardships

    • They strive to ensure the security of their chosen community

    • Open to the General Public involved with Guilds of Requiem, Inc. and Space Station Requiem activities

Science Department

  • The R2K2 (Kadie Johnson) Award:

    • Spearheads a campaign that all members can participate in without geographical boundaries

    • Open to all members of GoR Public Groups

 

  • The Galileo Award:

    • Individual contributions to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math Scholastic Achievement

    • Open to all members of GoR Public Group
